Delicado Wanda Willis
Delicados Inc., Chesapeake Chapter has chosen Delicado Wanda Willis as this year’s Rose Bud. Delicado Wanda joined the sisterhood in 2016. Since her induction into the chapter, she has served on many committees. As a resident of Stafford, Virginia, Wanda travels quite a distance to attend meetings. Whenever she is unable to be physically present, she can be counted on to meet with the chapter virtually. Delicado Wanda is a native of Chesapeake and was educated in the city’s school system. Wanda received her B.S. in Business Administration from Strayer University and earned an MBA in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management. She currently works as a Contract Specialist for the Defense Logistics Agency serving as a civilian service employee for the Department of Defense and has assumed that position for 34 years. She has worked for the Department of the Navy, Department of Army, Marine Corp Regional Contracting office and Navy Medical Research Center. She is a member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda (ASL) Honor Society.
Delicado Wanda is the mother of two daughters, Dr. Chanel Willis, who is pursuing her Residency at Riverside Medical Center and Janaea Willis, BSN, who is a Nurse Care Partner with CVS Pharmacy and has one granddaughter, five-year-old Kiyah Willis.
She enjoys traveling and has visited Europe, Mexico, Jamaica, Bermuda, the Bahamas, St. Kitts and Nevis, Turk and Caicos, Dominican Republic, Aruba and many states including Hawaii and the territory of Puerto Rico.
Wanda’s favorite scripture is Luke 6:31 where Jesus states, “Just as you want men to do to you, do the same way to them.". This principle is often referred to as the Golden Rule, emphasizing the importance of treating others with the same kindness and respect you would want to receive.
