Delicado Barbara Fornville
Delicado Barbara Jean Fornville joined the organization in April 2023 and brings an enthusiastic commitment to serving those in need within the Chesapeake community. As a new member, she has demonstrated reliability, compassion, and productivity. Since her induction, she has attended all conclaves and Executive Board Meetings, actively participating and networking with members while seeking to understand the history and purpose of Delicados, Inc. The success of the 2024 Founder’s Day event was a testament to her effective planning and leadership. Her rapid acceptance of a leadership role reflects her dedication and commitment to the chapter.
Barbara is a lifelong member of Second Calvary Baptist Church, where she has contributed to numerous ministries, including the usher board, president of the Fannie Cypress Missionary Circle, Trustee, leader of the Wisdom Ministry, and volunteer office receptionist. For decades, she has overseen the church’s Thanksgiving project, providing food baskets to those in need and recently facilitating donations of gift cards from local businesses.
She is the mother of two, O’Neal III and Blair Durham, and her five grandchildren—Victoria, Nature, Vianna, Kweli, and Kaeden—are especially important in her life.
Barbara is the middle child of the late Annie and Willie Parson and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1966. She built a distinguished career spanning over 30 years at Verizon and, following retirement, enjoyed more than 15 years as a sales associate in the jewelry department at Kohl’s. Barbara has a passion for reading, shopping, family gatherings, good food, crossword puzzles, HGTV, the Hallmark Channel, and travel.
